problems

-The multiculturalism policy creates the inherent problem
-a feeling of otherness


-lack of respect

-selfishness

-lack of interaction
-ignorance(misunderstanding, stereotypes, fear, prejudgement)
-tendency to be together based on the sameness
-unfamiliarity
-difference
-separation
-peer pressure

-lack of motivation/interest
-lazy, passive


-improve our diversity efforts to create a more global community
-something that we can all benefit from
-we can learn from those of different backgrounds
-go out and look/experience
-practice acceptance



How to increase respect, interaction, and motivation?


-provoke thought
-interactive
-engaging
-visually stimulating
-we are all unique, rather than our differences
-Avoid negative slogans
-promote dialogue among cultural groups
-daily
-appeals to the senses
-Vancouver context
